"I began learning to drive with Harriet towards early December 2007. Having had very little driving experience before hand I was a complete novice and was actually quite nervous. However, after explaining the basics to me and familiarising myself with the car and the various controls, Harriet made me feel extremely at ease and confident driving on public roads. Her calm and relaxed personality and teaching style made me feel all the more confident and meant that I was able to master the many routines and manoeuvres quickly, without getting too complacent as I was constantly being tested and pushed that little bit further, this I felt meant that I was able to reach test standard earlier.
After approximately 27 hours of tuition, Harriet advised me to put in for my test on 10th March 2008. I felt nervous on the day, however Harriet showed extreme confidence in me and I knew that she wouldn’t tell me to take my test without me being ready first. Having passed my test first time and with only 5 minors, I then decided to complete the Pass Plus course with Harriet, as I really enjoyed the learning process with her. During the Pass Plus sessions, I covered many things such as weather driving and driving on country lanes. To put these new skills into practise, Harriet decided that we would drive to Wales, on a mix of country lanes and motorways. This was excellent fun and I felt extremely confident, especially on fast and winding country lanes due to the safe, fun and friendly learning environment which Harriet creates.
I have now completed the Pass Plus course which I would also highly recommend as not only has it lowered my insurance premiums on my own car, but I feel that it has given me the skills and the knowledge to drive safely in a variety of different situations.
